Connecting the Dots: From Clinical Care to Systems Change — Strengthening People and Strategy

Most careers make sense looking backward.

Mine certainly does.

But at the time, it didn’t feel that way.

I began my career as a labor & delivery and mom-baby nurse, later worked as a perinatal nurse home visitor, and eventually practiced as a women’s health nurse practitioner.

Over time, my work expanded into public health leadership, focusing on cancer, cardiovascular disease, and HIV/STI prevention programs.

Across those roles, one truth kept surfacing:

Health outcomes are shaped by the systems surrounding people’s lives.

Community conditions.

Partnerships.

Leadership.

The more I saw those patterns, the more I found myself drawn to bigger questions:

How do systems actually change?

How do leaders navigate complexity?

How do we support the people doing this work?

When I completed the CliftonStrengths assessment 13 years ago (Connectedness | Ideation | Individualization | Maximizer | Strategic), I suddenly could see something clearly: my energy lives in connecting ideas, strengthening people, and helping teams think strategically about complex systems.

That realization was the spark that led me to start Lolina Solutions.

Today I’m excited to share the launch of the newly redesigned website.

It reflects the work we’re doing with organizations, teams, and collaboratives to strengthen leaders and strategy within complex systems.

Systems change doesn’t happen because of a new framework or policy alone.

It happens when people choose to lead differently. When teams build trust. When organizations align their values with their actions.

That’s the work I care most about supporting.

Launching this website feels less like an announcement and more like an invitation.

  • To leaders navigating complexity desiring to lead more authentically.

  • To teams committed to building stronger, more equitable systems together.

  • To multisector partnerships and coalitions tackling challenges no single organization can solve alone.

  • To organizations that believe strategy and leadership must be grounded in humanity.

Because healthier communities don’t happen by accident.

They are built by people—and partnerships—willing to lead with clarity, courage, and care.

If that resonates with you, I invite you to explore the new site: lolina-health.com

I’m curious: What experiences helped you connect the dots about the work you’re meant to do?

Let’s Build What’s Next—Together.

Explore the new site. Learn more about our work. And reach out if you're curious about how we might partner.
